Im starting to really love this album again, and after thinking the title track was a bit lacking compared to TDWOT, im starting to love that again also, almost as good as TWDOT imo, best song here.

Okay, my new favorite SX album. In fact, one of my favorite metal albums of all time so far. Maybe "V" will change my opinion when I get that album.

The Odyssey is really great. It's the only album I own of them, but I look forward for others :p
The Odyssey the song is very good.

I know i say this a lot, but V is definately SymX's best, as good as this album is. This is either their second or third best (probably third, Im thinking TDWoT is a little better)

Eh, this is better. The Divine Wings Of Tragedy has 2 weak songs that really drag the album down (The Eyes of Medusa and The Witching Hour). This album has only one weak song (The Turning) and the epic song is better.

Those two songs you mentioned do bring TDWoT down, but overall i just like the album better. I like the epic on TDWoT better than the one here. This album is more solid, but TDWoT is just better imo.

I still think Paradise Lost is better than this

I have not listen to TDWoT and V yet (I will eventually), but I think Paradise Lost is better than The Odyssey even if it is really really good.

I used to like Paradise Lost more, but it grew off me a bit. This is just a little bit better, probably because of the title track, King of Terrors," and "Awakenings."

Awakening and The Odyssey are awesome. I love them.

This is probably fourth best album. Although on this spin, I've liked it a lot.
TDWOT > Paradise Lost > V > Odyssey > Twilight > Damnation Game > s/t for me.

The title track is one of the best songs you will ever hear.

Yeah good review. Just voted.
This album doesn't have enough Russell Allen. The guy can be compared with such vocalists as Geoff Tate for gods sake. His performance in the title track and Turning is particularly note worthy.

This IMO is pretty weak when set beside DWOT and TIO but it is better than V IMO.
I like DT better though.
Two diffrent beasts but to the people that say they cannot write music check out anything from there first four records. They do tend to wank off a bit with Jordan Rudess though.
BTW ON Eddie Trunks last night MP was on there and Eddie played a teaser for the new DT record. It is amazing. It has a lot of symphonic elements and a lot of gothic touches but not in a bad Systematic Chaos was, in an Awake WDADU and Images and Words way.

I'd have to agree this is one of the weaker SX albums. The only songs I found myself listening to were the title track and the ballad-esque Accolade II and Awakenings
