Chill, Judobear. I was being facetious. Oh, sweet mix btw.
Agree with Clerc, a bit more about the philosophy behind the music is always nice.

At least you try. I only do reviews and concert reports for the site I'm writing for. I think I'd faint if I would do an interview. :p

Dat mix.
I'm swimming in a sea of bass and atmosphere and I haven't even turned the bass up.

Haha well unfortunately this wasn't done in person, which would have ruled, because we are in different countries.

Judobear can't faint. His neurons will just judochop things like anxiety or fear.
"Let those atmosphericwubz take you awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
It's your fault if my house suddenly starts floating!

Yeah, thought so. In that case, follow-up questions are indeed a bit difficult.
That Snake Charmer track is godly.

"For every action, there is allegedly an equal and opposite reaction. Being true to those wise words, there is now a growing demand in North America for a return to the more intelligent or emotive side of electronic music: a style that is experimental, dynamic, and unique. As a culture, we are beginning to grow tired of the predictable drops and catchy-until-they’re-overused samples, and there is a real potential for young producers to fill this void with a fresh style of music that is largely new to local audiences."
i think you've got the timing backwards there
|
| |
For the particular scene Adrian is referring to he's got it right
|
| |
uhh if hes referring to electronic music in north america then no hes wrong
all this popular shit was ripping off "artistic" music that already existed and then selling it as entertainment to the masses
like it always happens
|
| |
yeah i can see that argument, but there is one quibble that i have with it:
the people that are making the music in its "original state" usually stay submersed in that style of music, even as the rip off becomes popular. its more commentators and audiences that vacillates like that instead of the artists

bring dubstep back to those days when it was organic and non superficial

"bring dubstep back to those days when it was organic and non superficial"
You're just listening to the wrong dubstep bro

for the record I regret pretty much regret that entire opening paragraph and the angle that I took in
general with this review. I still stand by all of what I said (even if it is sort of a cliche by now),
my main argument at least.
you're misinterpretating what I said also. I was saying that the general masses in NA "discovered"
electronic music by way of a handful of popular producers and DJs. I'm not saying "intelligent" or
"artistic" music didn't exist until now, I'm saying that now (in particular) is a time that music like
that could definitely flourish in North America.
