Great album, gotta love it. It's a must have for any technical death metal fans.

Face of my Innocence is just sheer out and out brutal, that I have to say...is catchy.

I badly want the rest of this album!!!

I love this album, the guitar riffs are amazing and the songs are very well arranged. However, I find the drumming horribly bland and generic.

Not a joke haha, i really do find it horribly bland. Relying way too much on blast beats and his double bass pedal.

Well, that's metal drumming for you. It definitely fits the band.

Metal drumming doesn't always have to be typical. It'll be a lot more effective if he complimented the music better with more groove, and better fills than the typical drum rolls.

Malone is pumping some life back into the melodic death scene.

People just complain about the fact that James Malone plays out all the fucking time. But that's what I love about Arsis.

Out of the 4 CD stores I went to, I was lucky enough to find 1 copy of this, used, for 8 bucks. The first two tracks are amazing, rating to come.

Arsis is quite possibly the best melo-death band I've ever heard. I dont see why its a problem that James Malone plays out, I mean this is his band. Its not like the songs are constant wankery, they're just technical.
It is, especially by haters of music with screamers.
This is so ironic I think I died on the inside.

Also, I'd like to add that this band has to be one of the most overrated in history. I used to love their newest album, but after a while it got so tiresome. It's nothing but multiple harmonized guitar leads and shitty layered screaming, with horribly triggered drumming as well. There is such an absence of songwriting skills in this band that its not even funny. This Message Edited On 06.17.07

There's nothing technical about some guy thinking he's awesome because he can layer his guitar.

I had to order this cd due to living in a small town with very limited music selection and when i finally got it i was very satisfied. "The Face of my Innocence" and "Sadistic Motives..." are two of my favorite metal songs now.
