Honestly when I really started listening to all of their stuff (again) last month I was astonished how many tracks I didn't know we're completely badass. No Quarter is simply stunning

Glad to see your digging Zeppelin. I love "No Quarter", great song indeed, even though some of the guitar parts are obviously derive from Jimi Hendrix's "Machine Gun".

yeah dude they have so much great shit

Jimmy stole from everyone haha

Seriously, my dad raised me a Zeppelin fan and this past month I think I've truly realized the sheer magnitude of what they did. They disbanded 8 years before I was born, so this is technically the only "new" Zeppelin I'll ever hear. Amazing stuff

This review is great. Why isn't it featured?
|
| |
Don't think a review for a Led Zeppelin compilation needs to be featured.
|
| |
Why not? It's a new release, and a really well written review. Dude, what else is the site gonna feature anyway? Barely anyone has been reviewing new releases, the site has had so little to feature that I've been featured three times in a row lol.
|
| |
Jamming this now like six tracks in, Trampled Under Foot just kicked my ass.
One thing bugging me though, is it just me or is this whole thing downtuned to hell?

@breakingthefragile
Thanks, Alex. Greg asked the mods to feature my review, but I asked them not to. There are other albums by lesser known bands that could use the exposure. I love Led Zeppelin, but they're already a huge name.
@Tommy
I noticed that too. A lot of the songs are somewhat downtuned and heavier sounding. They still sound great though.

They featured 2 reviews for the new Deftones too... lol
Idk, I just don't think it's necessary.

Yeah I think they downtuned a lot of the ones with high vox cos Rob can't hit the notes anymore. Still good, just different.
No Quarter is fucking insane, Jimmy was on fire. He was sloppy as hell for the first few numbers but you can hear him getting his shit together as the show goes on haha. Bonzo Jr. rules too.

I thought he sounded okay throughout, but yeah they have all lost a bit of fire since the 70's obviously. Still it was one hell of a show.
|
| |
Yeah well we can't blame them, I mean come on.
I haven't gotten this yet, though.
|
| |
No I'm not knocking Jimmy at all, I was only referring to the first two or three songs. After that he was on fire! Dazed and Confused was so so good. I'm up to Kashmir right now and it's blowing my mind.
Maaaaan I wish these dudes would tour.

But all of the songs are in a lower key, this annoys me

I fucking love this dvd

Congrats on the feature man. Even if you didn't want it, it is more than well deserved mate.

Is it bad that I presumed all of Zep to be dead?

Are the mods not letting me do the other slash as a joke or something? It looks like I'm doing the small dick gesture
