They're not bad songs per se but it was reminiscent of listening to Dirt for the first time where the 'happiest' songs come first & thinking isn't this supposed to have a dark atmosphere, laced with a feeling of suffering? Fortunately, this gave me that in spades eventually.

Dark & sludgy though, yeah? I thought they might create a similar vibe, I'm not expecting too much correlation, just vaguely. I definitely need to check anyway, so it's kind of irrelevant I guess.

This album might be 5 worthy, just track after track of excellence. It's one of those records that's an interesting & complete musical journey, rather than simply a collection of decent songs. Love how twisted & deranged the whole thing is & the diverse set of styles really work together somehow.



Having said that if I had to choose my favourite songs...
