definitely don't think the last 3 are the best but they're excellent ofc.

also the last minute or so of never catch me is great but i much prefer the former half of the song

Okay I've listened Never Catch Me a lot thanks to the video and I change my mind about Kendrick's verse

That video did nothing for me, I imagined the song to accompany an entirely different theme. Song is fantastic regardless

The theme of the video fits pretty perfectly I dunno what you mean, the song is about spiritual/otherworldly liberation that you can only experience by dying. That's pretty much exactly what the video is about; The dead kids get up and start dancing joyfully but no one has any reaction to it implying they're not actually there and they're spirits, but they love it presumably because it's an experience unlike anything else they've ever felt, while at the end they ride off into the sunset, which is supposed to represent freedom ("you will never ever catch me now").

Yeah, I wasn't arguing against the lyrical theme, but the song itself didn't make me picture that in my mind. it just doesn't fit with the sound IMO

got it on CD today. very good but need more spins. the prog and fusion influence was really well done. lots more live drums and Thundercat/Herbie etc have the chops to make those parts work.

The video was kinda sluggish for the speed of the song I suppose but it seemed fine for me otherwise

Also I totally change my mind about everything I said about Never Catch Me I love it, especially the latter half, Thundercat's bass playing is so good
