"People complaining about rap-djent being the worst thing ever? Was Lulu and dubmetal really that long ago that people now think they're good?"

4.5, opinion invalid. Go away.

Didn't think Sputnik and MetalSucks had so much in common.

If it "isn't half bad" then I guess it's a 3 at most?

The rap and djent elements are individually pretty good though they don't gell perfectly, which is fine considering this is the band's first EP. It's streets better than rap metal which gets neither the metal nor the rap elements right.

"rap-metal", it's a shit genre to begin with, don't care how good it is.

I'd give it a 3-3.5 depending on how it grows on me. It takes balls to do this considering how reviled Nu Metal is, but this has potential.

No they really dont. it's just not many "djent" bands rap in their music so it's new. Give it time,

it'll change.

Woah woah woah! Rap metal is shit if done by shitty rappers in shitty metal bands! RATM, FNM etc etc were good.

It doesn't really "take balls" when the djent crowd are mostly people that grew up with nu-metal and get nostalgic for it. It's not like it was ever some elite trve metul thing.

@SitarHero, I don't really think you could call Faith no More a rap metal band.

FNM invented rap metal, along with a bunch of other sh*t. Djent in general gets boring, but all Im saying is Im not writing off this band and/or niche yet.

And some like to claim it was Anthrax and Public Enemy.

Yeah, Faith no More were a big influence but that doesn't make them a rap metal act themselves. They were way more varied than that.

Im not saying FNM were a rap metal band, Im saying they did rap metal in a non-gag-inducing way. Maybe that's just because it wasnt overkill at the time.

Yeah, because it wasn't generic metal with somebody rapping over it all of the time. It was actually varied and creative.
