Even in the tutorials I've seen Erak play he fucks shit up all over the place in one-takes, but I understand cause he was much more of a writer and creative type than a precision metronome player
And that's okay, I prefer it vastly over the nerds that can't write cool parts if their lives depended on it but can recreate what others have done to robotic standards

The Protest the Hero bois were like that too, writing well beyond their capabilities technically
Again, another smart choice. If you can nail it in the studio between multiple takes, put it in the album.
Same applies to vocals.

Man that brings back memories, g40st. I actually saw Protest the Hero in 2008 on their Fortress tour, and the supporting act after Chiodos (lol) was The Fall of Troy. They played a lot of Doppelganger and I remember not being able to discern much at all because a) the songwriting is frenzied b) the sound in the venue was abysmal and c) they were probably high or drunk and having the time of their life. Great show though, I'll never forget it. These guys in their prime, whatever that means, playing Doppelganger was a sight to behold. I didn't know a single note from the album besides FCPREMIX from Guitar Hero 3 so I mostly looked puzzled until that one came up.
