If you've already heard more than 1 album from prolific & polarizing deathcore act Emmure, then you pretty much know what you'll get from their 5th LP 'Slave to the Game'. Once again produced by Joey Sturgis, this is a concept album of sorts built around video games & comic books. Relatively speaking, the lyrics have improved, but drafting in new drummer Mark Castillo doesn't radically alter the quintet's sound, with breakdowns still ruling the roost. As per usual, there are 3 or 4 tracks that display promise, but they are surrounded by a bunch of boring, repetitive & unimaginative tunes that cannot be told from each other. Recommended Tracks: MDMA & Cross Over Attack.
