This was one of the first gaze things I listened to and while “Starting Over” is obviously a genre classic (even if not exactly unique) that I do return to now and then I can’t say I remember any of the rest of this and kind of doubt it would hold up now that I know most of the genre essentials.

pinkshinyultrablast is handily my fav cortez, but i do rate how what he did on that album for noise pop and on the first two lovesliescrushing albums for ethereal dreamnoiz epitomise their respective extremes of the shoegaze spectrum with such uncompromising girth
