yeah nightprowler I'm not saying dsotm lyrics aren't brilliant, because they are, but yeah they are mostly about rather universal themes which I can only relate to on an intellectual level but not an emotional one know what I mean

first two chords of Welcome to the Machine

I worshiped Gilmour when I used to play guitar a lot, and those are definitely my favourite open chords because of him.

You sum up it up nicely tommy, DSOTM is intellectual, (conceptually, and emotionally musically) and this is personal, and emotional. Maan i love both albums equally

I've never met anyone who doesn't like these guys, you know. Even if it is the most radio overplayed

"The Wall" or "Money" Everybody loves at least one of their songs. Probably the only band i can think

of that holds such a reputation amongst such a varied of erray of people and tastes

Mmm, yeah, i guess. Though I've met some tools who've trash talked the Beatles before, only out of

pure ignorance of course

Both bands have something in common and that's that their both objectively talented and highly

inspirational artists whether you like them or not, and you can't deny that fact even if you don't

like listening to them. But i'm yet to come across someone who actually hates Pink Floyd

I'm not gonna get into the whole 'Floyd > Beatles' thing, 2 awesome bands who both did their fair share for music.
