I think it's a culmination of both the music *and* the context which you first got accustomed to it that creates something like that. Funnily enough, The Four Trees creates that exact feeling for me as well (and I really like it as well), so the type of music is definitely important.
Sometimes even the artwork helps create a mood you always associate with an album as well. Definitely with this Hammock album. I can't even listen to it unless it's dark outside. I think the cover and the two music videos I saw (which have a lot of 'night' theming in them' sort of created that for me.

Sweet, Mute Angels is one of my favorites on the album
Edit: wow. That was outstanding. I have to say, I've been keeping up with some of the entries for the
contest and can't say that I've been too impressed. The ones I've seen tended to follow a very similar
path that almost seemed cliche in regards to Hammock's previous videos, not doing anything special or
anything new. But that... that was something I never expected to see in a Hammock video, and it
surprisingly worked so perfectly. Nothing short of phenomenal

One thing I am disappointed about, however, is that I didn't see a single entry for Let's Kiss. That's my other favorite from the album and I know people could have been really creative with that track

Awesome stuff, could've done with a fade out on both the song and the video tho, it kinda just stops.

The old, sun setting/night with girl looking contemplative right? I think they're nice enough videos even if they don't have much substance. Definitely why i like this one, it's clever, well made and seem like an official vid (well it is now)

One of my favorite things to listen to while attempting to fall asleep, great stuff.

This music is wasted on trying to sleep. I've always said that about good post rock and ambient. It's the equivalent of just saying 'this metal is good to make me angry and not much more'

I get it with that album actually, but you need to listen to it awake as well to truly appreciate it!
