There's nothing really wrong with Maladroit, but there's nothing really good about it either.

I like keep fishin :D

This album doesnt suck.

Well, I think a good way of putting this into perspective is
in order of their releases, (Blue being first, MB being last)
that the quality of each album has gone down.
Except switch Maladroit and MB's positions.
Weezer was not a one hit wonder,
they were a one album wonder.

Except Pinkerton is infinitely better than Blue.

The best post Pinkerton Weezer album. The three songs are awesome, then there's a few others which are pretty good too.
|

eh, the green album is far better than this.

WOW this is the most underrated weezer album!!! i'm a hardcore weezer fan...as in i've been listening to them for my whole life, i own every album, i've read the weezer book, and i have a deep attatchment to every one of their albums. the truth is that every single weezer album is different...but always embodies weezerness...i hope that makes sense. no matter what they do, they will always sound like weezer - and Rivers Cuomo is one of the greatest musical geniuses of our time i would say. every one of their albums are amazing, but i can't stand ppl who cling to the blue album and won't open their minds to anything else. wezzer EVOLVES - every band does. Maladroit is weezer's most instrumentally sound album. i would say its their hardest as well. don't let the tracks they chose as singles fool you. if you know anything about weezer they always pick the popiest songs to throw out onto the radio cuz Rivers likes to please his pop audience that way. unfortunately most of river's guitar solos are bland on their other albums (they follow the melody of the chorus or something) but with this album he bursts out of his usual solo routine with some kickass riffs. maladroit has such a diverse set of sounds as well...so many cool instrumental bits. maybe the lyrics are more reserved on this one but please please please, if you like weezer, and you get the time, listen to this album a few more times.
highlights for me: burndt jamb, slave, love explosion and december.

In the beginning, I hated nu-Weezer. I gave Green a 3, Red a 2, Make Believe a 1, and this album a 2. But the albums grew onto me so quickly that I raised each rating a lot higher (especially Make Believe, I'm really diggin' that album despite Beverly Hills).
Hopefully this album will start growing onto me. Somewhat...

Yeah, this album doesn't really deserve all the hate. Aside from Raditude this is by far the strongest of the newer Weezer albums.

Not the biggest fan of Weezer, but this actually sounds rather good
