I usually go on rotten tomatoes for movie ratings

gran torino has 80%

wayyy too low when you consider that films like seven have 85%. I mean it's ok but come, even I saw

the ending coming

"eastwood's movie was better and got snubbed at the award shows"
Well, I agree but who with a legit opinion cares about awards? I bet even Eastwood didn't give that much of a fuck, I mean it's probably also because it's Eastwood but still.

lol fuck off, Seven is way better than Gran Torino, and the rottentomatoes ratings just means how many critics simply liked it, not how much they liked it

brad pitt's character in that film is one of the most contrived I've ever seen. was so obvious they were trying to fit him into the "wrath" archetype for the whole film just to force an "unconventional" ending

seven has 7.4/10 average

gran torino has 7.1/10 average

Gran Torino is a much more archetypical and predictable movie

Seven was a big deal when it came out

it doesn't help that soon after I saw seven I was zodiac, which is the best crime film I have ever seen.

I don't think I've even seen Seven. I'm horrible at pop culture.

I found Seven to be incredibly underwhelming

on the other hand I loved Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski, I'm weird like that

Honestly I'd call it one of my favourite films of all time if I wasn't so shit at rating films in general

How's that weird? Those are both pretty popular movies. A buddy of mine is an official reverend of the church of Dudeism or however it's called.

There Will Be Blood is my favourite movie of all time

Das Leben Der Anderen, Schindler's List, Clockwork Orange and Spirited Away would complete my top 5

'How's that weird? Those are both pretty popular movies.'

Dunno, I don't like a lot of popular movies :]
