if you actually think that typing out lyrics is an effective way to show what constitutes good rapping then i would say you have a limited perspective on hip hop

fair enough man

but back on topic i think that even though eminem's lyrics on his last album were definitely an

improvement over the previous 3 and pretty decent overall (especially if you're looking at them from a

strictly "technical" aspect), his delivery and even the way he writes the lyrics (their composition)

is so mechanical, abrasive, uncool... i'm not sure how to describe it fully... "white" maybe?

whatever it is, it rubs me the wrong way and makes the music hard to enjoy

I think I might know what you mean. The first three songs I heard were the singles "Survival",

"Bezerk" and "Monster" and I thought it was some of the wackest shit i've ever heard, literally.

But I bought the album and while it still sounds 'uncool'- in the sense that it's not a top choice

to play around other people - I kinda just stopped caring, its more a album I listen to alone at

work or working out.

Since then its really fun to listen to and the sound eventually grew a lot and became more

nostalgic/funky. Now the fact that it once sounded so awful is now a plus to me, cus its impressive

he actually went out on a limb and didn't just kinda repeat stuff thats already said while makin it

sound cool with already-been-done sounds (which is what I think makes albums like GKMC really good,

but far from classics).

Berzerk is definitely one of the worst songs of 2013.

I don't think MMLP2 Had the consistency that this album had. This is a masterpiece start to finish. Eminem had a few great tracks on it, but as a whole this blows it out of the water
