Thanks, I was really surprised no one had written on for it yet, it is such a great album. I think that was the longest I worked on a review, it took me almost a week to finish it. I was hesitant on the intro paragraph(s). I was afraid it took too long to get started.

I'm curious to see what you think of Third Eye Blind's S/T since pretty much everyone here that reviewed it gave it a 5. I was reading up on the band a while back, I didn't realize it was such a widely acclaimed album. You could also do some earlier Everclear, Matchbox 20's first album or The Offspring before they started to suck.

but that's why it's cool to review those albums, to convince people that they're worth checking out for more than just the singles.

@Ecnalzen, maybe I will at least I know i'll have one reader!

about third eye blind, yeah i was surprised how high it's rated but it really does deserve it. i have it at a 4.5 I think. It had what 3 or 4 singles? not to mention the other songs are great too. Jumper, semi charmed life!

Ha ha, you know it!

I think it hit at least 5, maybe 6. It had a ridiculous amount songs released off it.

I am the same as Emyay. I was fairly young during the 90s so I didn't really have any money to buy CDs so I just listened to the radio a lot and bought the albums I really wanted with birthday/Christmas money or asked for them as presents.

You could also do 3 Doors Down's first album, The Better Life, before they started rehashing the exact same song over and over again and began to super suck. Clean intro/verse, distorted chorus, rinse and repeat, guitar solo and fade out with chorus.

meh never got into 3 doors down but while we're on the subject, alanis morisett'es jagged little pill is perhaps my favorite 90's alternative rock album. 5/5

The Better Life is actually pretty good (at least from what I remember, I haven't listened to it in years). You might try it out someday, you may be surprised. Never liked Alanis. There was something about her that bothered me.

Totally off subject, Atari, but I have another possible pop punk band you may or may not have heard of. Ever listen to A Change of Pace?

I have one of their albums, An Offer You Can't Refuse, and I really enjoy it. They changed their style up quite a bit after this album though, so I stopped after this album. This has got a pop punk vibe with a bit of a post hardcore tinge to it. I'll link you a pop punk and a more hardcore song so you can hear for yourself.

Post Hardcore-ish:

Pop Punk:

Most of the album is in the playlist under both of these videos if you end up liking it you can check the rest out.

I don't think I've heard that one. Try out Chippie, that's a great one.

I actually just remember how I found out about these guys. They randomly messaged me on Myspace and told me they thought I would like their style based off what I had on my favorite music lists, lol. I think that was the only time a band did that and I actually liked their music.

ok this is something i'd probably neg but since you asked me to read it and tell you my thoughts, and you seem sensitive to that neg stuff, I'll just give rxns

here r some:

1. that first paragraph is completely worthless, and the annoying toung-and-cheek idiom 'sliced bread' and other shit like that should be avoided like the plague. In my opinion, i guess it's ok to talk about a band as being 'forgotten' in a general sense but trying to explain why is just fucking pointless. you don't know dude. if you did, you'd be doing cooler shit than reviewing on sputnik

2. id honestly just start with the 2nd paragraph.

3. as a rule i think its a waste of everyone's time when a critic chastises popular music as being 'repetitive' (for reasons that should be obvious)

4. switching to the second person/first person exchange in the end is ok sometimes but occasionally jarring and awk. i'll let you be the judge, just something to keep in mind.

5. for the most part i agree with you abt. sugar ray's floored
