5 classic
Billy Talent Billy Talent II
I jammed that so hard when I was a kid. Sure it may not actually be a 5/5, but I love that album to death.

"This just false. The vocalists you mentioned are nothing alike. Your profile doesn't reflect any metalcore, so it honestly just seems like an opinion formed out of ignorance."
Nah, vocalist does sound like Heafy at times tbh. They aren't that original. Album has its moments but thus far its pretty dull. The River is a good track though.

They really don't even employ the same style though. Sylosis is way more guttural than Trivium are. Their cleans are a world apart as well. I'm curious, please post an audio example that exemplifies your comparison.
I would give it a couple more spins. The album is super progressive and it always takes me multiple listens to get into albums like this.

Super progressive is avant garde shit, this uses the same progressive ideas again and again

"The album is super progressive"
lolwut? No it really isn't, do you even listen to prog?

I concede those points, I wouldn't say Sylosis is WAY more guttural but they are more guttural at points and the cleans are different, I was talking specifically about the screams, Sylosis don't employ that many cleans on this album anyway. There was one particular song where the vocalist did strikingly remind me of Heafy, but I'd have to look up the song again to show you what I mean and I can't be asked to do that now. The vocals are definitely not that original though, you could stick them on any other metalcore band of this nature and you couldn't tell the difference.

Trivium and Sylosis are both horrific, so what's the point in comparing them? Shit v. turd, who wins, who cares.

Shogun and Ascendancy are both miles better and more memorable than this album, even with Heafy's horrific vocals. Trivium are sort of a guilty pleasure for me anyway, they were my favourite band when I was 13 lol.

Trivium are ok for the occasional listen, but urgh, nope not for heavy listening

I hardly listen to Trivium anymore lol. Those albums I mentioned are still better than this.

This band are not Metalcore. How many people have to spout this nonsense.
Your right, the vocals are not original. They however arn't super common. Sure you can point to
Heafy in a certain song section, but that isn't enough to justify it.

This is really progressive for a thrash/melodeath mix. I'm not going compare it to Rush, but I
wasn't implying that.

Don't try to be cool by suppressing what you like. Trivium are a good band, sure they have weak
albums(the one after ascendancy, and the latest one) and I hardly listen to them anymore, but I
recognize their talent.

Heafy's vocals were terrible on Ascendancy, but he definitely improved on Shogun. Besides, your
diggn' BTBAM pretty hard. Let me preface by saying, Paralax II is one of my favorite albums of the
year, but BTBAM's harsh vocals are some of the the worst in Metal.
