It is. I kind of want to start an Anberlin cover band. I wonder how ridiculous that is even though they are gonna be broken up by the time I would be ready to play a show like that.

I would deff include

"The Haunting"

"The Unwinding Cable Car"

"Dismantle. Repair."

"Impossible"

"Burn Out Brighter (Northern Lights)"

or maybe do a cover band that covers some classic rock but specializes in cover sets of broken up bands from the last decade like Anberlin, Alexisonfire, Thrice etc.

So I got over my issues with Modern Age's chorus. Easy Top-5 Anberlin song. Those verses are so majestic ;_;

I dunno, I changed pretty much all my Anberlin ratings a while back. I still love em, but none of their albums quite make it up to a 4.5 for me anymore.

I'm always surprised by how much love Anberlin gets here. I was a casual fan of them when Cities came out but I never thought they were amazing

I did relisten to it recently though and it holds up really well with my current tastes....

I'm not really sure they get a lot of love here. It's just there are a few loud fanboys (including some staff) who talk about Anberlin a lot and so the perception is that they're well-respected. I guess that could lead to inflated averages, since casuals are probably more likely to be more forgiving of an album that they perceive as well-respected.

Most of the site probably doesn't care about them

"wow can we still be friends"

I sure hope so!

This is close... maybe it will make it back up there one of these days. I've thought about giving Devotion a 4.5, but I generally don't rate re-release stuff, even though it's technically not just a re-release of Vital. Hmm....

just weird to see me with a higher rating given you're the one singing its praises to me on the cities thread lol

That seems like so long ago... What, like last year?

This is still my favorite by them, tho. Just not quite at that 4.5 level anymore. But I also used to think NTFP was their 'worst' album, and it's my second favorite now, so you know...

Time and stuff, right?

Wow I'm may have to bump this I forgot how amazing and energetic this is! Probably their most compelling release honestly or one of them at least.
