His vocals were already an acquired taste for me in the first place, so I might not like it at all then either. If Keeping
Secrets ever comes around for me, I will try out Turbine too and see what happens.

Yeah his vocals are definitely like that, I hated them at first and now I adore them. I love Coheed cos of the concept though, which makes it difficult for me to dislike anything they do.

I love the vocals on SSTB. I think it just has that raw intensity wrapped in pure emotion which is why I love that album so much.

Yeah he definitely serves up the emotion on that one. Like I said I adore his vocals now, yeah they're high-pitched but it suits the band and he is consistently awesome across all their releases.

however the vocals are usually the thing that turns most people off this band

Yeah I know, makes me sad because a lot of people write them off just from first impressions.

yeah they almost turned me off too when i first heard stuff by them. then Welcome Home got me into them and after that i had a couple of months when i really got into this band but nowadays they have grown off me a bit. IKSOSE:3 is easily my favorite by them

Same here, and most people agree I think. But I like everything they've ever done honestly.

yeah none of their albums are bad by any means. not a big fan of YotBR though

Don't really understand the hate for it, yeah it had shitty production but the songs themselves were fine. NWFT is my least favourite and it's still a 3.5.

there are many great songs on YotBR but the production partly kills it for me, still have it at a 3
my ranking:
IKSOSE:3
From Fear
SSTB
Ascension
NWFT
Descension
YotBR

Album Rating: 3.0
basically the difference between NWFT and YotBR for me is just that NWFT has more hooks i love to jam
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.1
Fair enough. NWFT has probably my two least favourite 'Heed songs, that is Justice in Murder and Radio Bye Bye, but even then they're still 2.5/5 songs. There are some fantastic tracks on there, undeniably. My ranking:
Keeping Secrets
From Fear
SSTB
Ascension
Descension
YOTBR
NWFT
So not all that different from yours it seems.

well the only difference between our rankings is that you think NWFT is their weakest. but yeah, it's not really a consistent record, has still enough great songs to make it a 3.5 for me

| |
Album Rating: 4.1
Yeah it has a bit of a consistency problem but when it gets it right it fucking gets it right, last three tracks especially. I don't really hate any songs on YOTBR, on the other hand, but few would be all-time Coheed classics for me.

I really like No World. I dig their more hard rock-ish sounding stuff though, and that album has a decent amount of that going on.
The first song I ever heard was Flavor House and I kinda hated it. I also thought it was a woman singing until I saw the music video, lol. I picked up Good Apollo after hearing Welcome Home but didn't like anything else on it. I didn't pay attention to the band again until I heard Here We Are Juggurnaut. YOTBR is actually what got me into the band and I ended up giving Good Apollo another try and then picked up No World not too long after that.
