I'm surprised by the rating and the love this album is getting. Most fans I know would have this album (and practically anything after The Wall) at a 3 or 3.5. I love this album myself, not one of their best, but still a really solid effort.

@ paperback, this is the only thing released under Pink Floyd after the Wall that I cared for



you could tell there were issues behind the story in The Wall. this is a more significant and effective version of that story to me.

Exactly, mate. You hate the nail on the head. Roger Waters ended up leaving afterwards, which is a shame because he was the essential member of the band.

Sweet, man. You did it justice, though 4.5 is a little high in my opinion. I'd have this a at a 4, but you make a strong argument as to why it deserves the rating you gave.

Paperback, i would probably have it as a 3.5 with Gilmour's brilliant solos edging it up to 4 on the strength of the music alone. But the lyrics are just some of the most moving stuff I've ever heard so it elevates it for me.
