redid the math and I think i can stand to bump this, even tho the last two tracks are lackluster.

Spirituality may not be one of the better tracks when compared to the others here, but it's still a pretty good closer for an album as insane as this.

spirituality is fine but room should have been another badass song

room should've been a bonus track, that would've made it more tolerable. it's not a bad song but it can't compare with the rest of the album and as the last "proper" track it's a real letdown.

I actually really dig room a lot

Dog Day Sunrise on Demanufacture should be a bonus track, tho

Maximum the Hormone can match the crazy sometimes but way more lighthearted

The fact that City and Ocean Machine were released in the same year is fucking wild to me. Dude was just casually churning out classics left and right

Yeah, for instance Oh My Fucking God and Death of Music are both completely different in sound and intensity and yet Devin was able to execute both styles just about perfectly, in a short time frame from each other no less as well.

Definitely. For the longest time, I thought he'd started his solo career after SYL, so I was pretty stunned when I found out he was doing all these projects concurrently. One hell of a busy guy, that's for sure

He also wasn't in the greatest headspace at this time either, Devin pretty much had a mental breakdown after finishing both this and Ocean Machine which led to his bipolar diagnosis. But hey, we got Infinity out of it which is also really good, so there's that as well

he said he always writes other music while recording something else, which is why he'd always seem to pop two at a time. seems like he's still writing that way but just not recording everything as quickly.

This album is infinitely incredible. It's the only Dev album I've heard that I truly love.
