Never been able to get into Alaska (minus Selkies and the t/t) no matter how hard I try.

Same with Colors, just find them both to be incredibly inconsistent.

Colors goes from two of their best songs (Foam Born and Prequel) to complete trite (Viridian and White Walls)

Or I could be thinking of Sun of Nothing instead of Viridian, either way I don't like White Walls.

white walls definitely is unnecessarily long and has some pretty pointless parts but the last four minutes easily make up for its weaknesses. and viridian is a 3-minute interlude so i guess you didn't mean that one

Have to admit this band has grown on me over time, I still feel they are overly ambitious at times and this album is a perfect

example of this.

They are one of those bands I'd love to see live though, the live performance of this album is incredibly tight, regardless of

whether I like it or not.

White Walls is my favourite BtBaM song. I think I killed someone when they closed with that one some tours

Pleb watch the Parallax DVD. I don't do it or I quit playing for good

I'm hoping this is better than The Great Misdirect. Compared to Colors, that one didn't make for easy listening, though it was still pretty good; Swim to the Moon is a fantastic track, and I kinda get tired of hearing Obfuscation on Saints Row 3.

Well I'm sure there will be a tour some time this year, withy heir album cycle etc.

Maybe that's what I need to fully 'get' these guys, I dunno.

The only thing I 'got' from seeing them live is a strong dislike of the average btbam fanboy

haha
