I remember buying this on the same day I bought Badmotorfinger (the actual release date for Human). I saw the cover of this album and was hooked without hearing it. Now, it’s one of my all-time faves.

Can anyone recommend any bands that sound like Death in their Human til Symbolic era? Intelligible vocals with non typical subject matter would be a great bonus. So far, i only found Quo Vadis (mostly their last two), Keeper of Dreams and Illogicist. Obscura only on some songs, mostly Incarnated, which sounds like Lack of Comprehension Pt. II. There are plenty bands for the pre Human era and those are great too, but the above mentioned phase is by far my favorite.

Definitely check out Atheist, especially their first 3 albums. Excellent jazz-influenced prog-death with intelligible vox
