Knowing that the kind of poppier-ish post-hardcore is my favorite kind, though, anything more to rec? Keep in mind screaming really isn't my thing

Dance Gavin Dance isn't terrible, but I think I meant "melodic" when I said poppy. Anything in that respect?

Silverstein has a little bit of screaming, but enough melody that you may like it.

Of course I assume you're familiar with the classics: Bad Religion, Pennywise, Millencolin and so forth?

I know their sound and most famous stuff, but I haven't really delved into full albums, so I'll have to do that.

Yeah. Millencolin are a good entry point, as their sound's rather melodic, just one step above pop-punk. Bad Religion and Pennywise are slightly more sonically charged, and Silverstein have the screams-cleans thing going, but are more emo than metalcore.

Also check out Fugazi, Minor Threat, Propaghandi, Antillectual, NoMeansNo, Dead Kennedys, Lard, Operation Ivy - but bear in mind some of these are rather less immediate than the ones above.

Yeah this band is awful. I'll give this a listen, for nostalgia of 14 y/o me's sake. I'm actually somewhat intrigued that they added new elements to their repertoire, but they really don't have the talent or creative ability to pull it off.

Maybe you should chase him down. He'd like that, I think.

I liked couple of songs from their second album. They were catchy, and I was young.
