The new stuff rips so it's easy to forget the existence of this one.

Jaw-droppingly pussified album from one of the most insane metal acts ever.

@Lucca: I didn't hear that at all out of like at least four runthroughs, even that song the reviewer called a failed abortion was alright. Really just the production doesn't hold up compared to the other stuff I tried afterwards.
@BigPleb: Haven't gotten to the LP but UMF yeah the EP's slap

sput reminding me how horrid this album is

Album Rating: 2.5
When I think horrid, I think completely lacking structure, jarring transitions, laughably bad vocal performances, cringeworthy lyrics even for me, among other things. Nothing here really does that to me. Guaranteed if this was a 3 Mile Scream record literally nobody would care.

structuring turds is easy kinda like slicing a tomato

Listen to "The Lovers / The Devil" by Sworn In. That makes this look like None So Vile, it's that bad. For every half-decent moment, the transitions throw you out of the loop until it's just them screaming over chug tracks.

nothing can make this sound like none so vile because this fucking sucks and yeah so does sworn in

Okay I'll admit alot of the hate comes from the fact that Cryptopsy of all fucking bands went middle school edgecore, but that doesn't mean this would be good under another band. The production is dogshit and both the vocals and lyrics are even worse. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT I SACRIFICED EVERYTHING I AM would be just as cringe if Suicide Silence or any other generic deathcore band did it.

I am soooo not hearing the "offensively bad" part about this album lmao. It's like a worse-produced version of what McGachy was doing in 3 Mile Scream, who were already a pretty decent metalcore band in their own right. For Cryptopsy standards this isn't particularly good but I bet your ass if this was released by a band like The Crimson Armada or some other 2000s deathcore act that actually riffed instead of chug chug chug chug chug chug it probably wouldn't be nearly as poorly received.
