"A Greater Foundation" really grew on me. Didn't much like it first time I heard it. Favourite song off the album at the moment.

Just went through it.. Wont rate by now, but it will hardly go over 3.0 for me.
@ Shogun, Cauterize is a weak track in the album imo. There are a few neat tracks here, but overall seems pretty lackluster. Recycled stuff. Felt like i was going through a mature and solid, yet not so over the top Miss May I album.
Please don't ever compare As I Lay Dying to Miss May I. At least not in the same breath. Album is a grower.

I wouldnt compare both bands, but the clean singing usage on this album reminds me of MMI, and since both share a ton of linear Metalcore riffs, it all just seems to come into evidence idk. Oh i heard a new TOTA song yday, they're going melodic as hell. Wouldnt say like MMI, but damn did their sound change a lot or what?

They both use melodic death metal style riffs yes. They both use clean vocalists also but honestly comparing Miss May I to
As I Lay Dying is like comparing Misery Signals with Your Memorial, one is totally derivative of the other, so of course
there are similarities. It doesn't mean they are bands of a similar calibre
though. AILD have been pioneering this style of metalcore for years, MMI are just weak AILD cover band.

Is looking to end up being my most listened to 2.5 rated album this year or ever actually. I
acknowledge this is a step down from the rest of their discography, but I still enjoy it especially
the first couple tracks.

Sspeding, yeah you're right. Id probably hang myself before putting MMI and AILD side to side in terms of quality and influence, and everything else lol. MMI took tons of influence from AILD, obviously. But imo the clean usage just got too predictable and for that, Josh's input falls short sometimes, and linearity makes the album feel more constant, but lacking a bit of momentum.
Still, its actually growing fast on me. First 4 tracks are so damn good

I'm really fuk'n diggin this right now. Lookin like a 4.5, might give AOBU a run for its money. Love Josh's cleans on this so far, but haven't heard it all yet.
