This is so much better than STYE, though at sometimes can start to sound monotonous after a while two or three songs. I really liked the female vocalist who guests in one of the songs.

isnt it great when everyone is COMPLETELY DIVIDED on opinion? hahaha!

btw, when i said the guitar work is simplistic on STYE, i meant in comparison to their other stuff. i sure as hell couldn't begin to play any of it!

the majority of the guitar work on CC is far superior. anyone know what tuning(s) they use?
Bb, F, Bb, Eb, G, C - I'm pretty sure, anyway.
Uh...not quite.

Back in the day they played in standard C, I'm assuming they still do now.

Unless they now play in drop B, in which case you would be right. This Message Edited On 02.06.06
anyway, this album comes out tomorrow, which happens to be the same day i am going to their show at the meridian, a coincidence i really like. Outside of this site, i have heard great things about this album, and despite RTR, STYE, the outcome of this album, i will always be a big IF fan. I cant wait for this one though.
Awesome, dude, I'm going to the same show. I can't wait.

I'll be in the pool room for the openers, though, that's for sure.

Is this album anything like STYE or RTR? Or is it more like Clayman and Colony?

Apparently it's like colony and R2R mixed together. I dunno coz I haven't heard it yet but that's what I've heard people say.

Nah, Jom has it right. This album is in drop Bb.

Anways, the album has some very strong songs imo, and some awful ones (Reflect The Storm).

I love Take This Life and Dead End.

I think the album honestly deserves a four. It's a good album, an easy listen, and quite catchy. Favorite songs are "Come Clarity," "Dead End," and "Vanishing Light" Least favorite is probably "Leeches" at this point.

cravinov, id describe the album as having the melodic approach of clayman and colony, but with the intensity and increased heaviness of R2R and STYE. with a bit more emphasis on thrash. hope that helps.

reflect the storm is probably one of the best tracks on it, especially if you've not heard the album and want to get a taste of the general style, cuz it seems to have a bit of everything.

I much prefer their older stuff, but Reflect the Storm is one of the few songs on here I really can't stand.

It's a good album, but definatley not a 5. It's a 4 at most. My favourite song on it is Dead End by the way. It's so epic sounding.

They would've done much better if they had added more of the Gothenburg melody instead of the R2R/STYE stuff. My opinion fluxuates though, it may be a 3.5 tomarrow.

Man the "limited edition" was a total waste of time. The "performance" of the entire album was just the album tracks played and them rocking out to it. Good lord, biggest let down ever, guess Used and Abused is their real dvd.

Ok, now I can say that your review was top notch having picked up the album on Tuesday morning hahahaha. Come Clarity reminds me alot of Clayman with some STYE melody mixed in. 5/5 on review 4.5/5 on album

the dvd was a bit of a con too, since a coupla overdubs have been taken out (unless its just my tv speakers are on the blink!) to dupe u into thinking it's live in the studio. ah well. i wish i'd waited, according to an ad i saw in metal hammer, theres a version with 2 bonus tracks. guess ill just have to download them...

still, the dvd was pretty much free, so....

excellent review dude i cant wait for their tour they do in support of this. I am not a metalhead at all, but no one does meldoy in metal as well as in flames. i find them awesome in most respects. i think the "STYE" was not soo good but was a new direction that should be appreciated even if it came a little close to some of the more "nu" sides of metal. But this album is good from what i have heard.
