"I've only heard this & 'The Fiancé' & this is clearly better. I don't mind 'The Fiancé' though it's just not on the same level."
Check out Long Live. It's on about equal footing with this recording.

Solid and uncommon choice. My favorite is Not, which I think is an uncommon choice as well.

"had a dream The Chariot and Norma Jean were going to release a split together"
The kind of dream you wake up disappointed that it wasn't real

the band had numerous line-up changes (mainly guitarists) and while yes, this doesn't exactly sound like their first album, I wouldn't say this sounds like an entirely different band, the core elements are there just better progressed and experimented on
I think The Chariot progressed beautifully with each album, with the ultimate culmination coming with this album and Long Live

Each album definitely sounds like a logical progression from the prior one despite the ever shifting lineup. Jam Everything is Alive and then One Wing and they clearly sound like the same band, whereas Bless the Martyr and Polar Similar sound like two completely different bands (albeit I love Norma)

If someone had played that song for me and told me The Chariot reformed and dropped a new single, I would have had no problem believing them
Apparently the guitarist. Bryan Taylor is the only member who was ever in The Chariot, and only on the album Wars and Rumors of Wars. Kinda weird

Nah. David Kennedy (drums) played on three Chariot albums, Jon played on the Fiancee and was in the band for three years and Bryan was on Wars and was in the band for two years
