Descent into Chaotic Dream is one of my songs of the year

Ya its a stunning track. The whole album is fandiddlytastic though.
Its a tie with Antithesis for Evoken's best release.

these make doom properly. Very layered and balanced.

So good.

the production killed the album for me :[
|
| |
Ya whats up with Evoken botching the bass in their albums? Maybe its to make balancing the dynamics easier becuase they do use a lot of counterpoint and higher notes to contrast the rumblz. Stilll though, the fuck? Antithesis Of Light had a the same problem to a lesser degree; it sounded like it was recorded in a big fucking hallway or sometheing

"the guitar work of Nick Orlando and John Paradiso"
Not to be all band info elitist person here or anything but it's actually Chris Molinari and John
Paradiso who do the guitars on here.Nick left after "A Caress of The Void".

"the production killed the album for me"
I thought the production was a lot better on here then ATL. I felt like all the instruments on there, especially "Coveting Elysium", were fighting each other in the mix.
