Mainstream Weezer sounds better than whatever the hell they were doing on Pinkerton, although I don't particularly like this album upon first listen either. I only really care about Blue album.

Well yeah, the Blue album is still the best for sure. But I still love the messy and raw elements of Pinkerton a lot too... the more poppy later records just feel really artificial and are just kinda boring to me

Something weird happened where I recognized a similarity between the vocal melody in Hash Pipe and another song I couldn't remember, and eventually thought of Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For. But the thing is like six years ago I was in the car and Hash Pipe came up, I didn't even know it was Weezer and told my brother this sounded like What You Waiting for, played it on my phone and he agreed. So I made that connection two separate times and almost forgot the first time it happened.

This kinda banging i vibe with this, some cute stuff on here just fun simple, sorta nostalgic sound. Wish the guitar solos consisted of more than just the first half of the chorus played by the lead followed by going right into the second half of the chorus
