There’s a rating between those options!

Yeah I definitely love this. Surprisingly relaxing (not sure what I was expecting tbh).

‘Intense‘ perhaps, or maybe ‘wild’? Okay maybe I do know what I was expecting, I just don’t know why I was expecting it. Probably saw the term ‘free jazz’ referenced somewhere and thought it would be a tougher nut to crack.

Watched Ornette: Made in America a few months ago and it was sick. It’s just a bit of interviews and a lot of live footage from his Skies of America era and it’s all really roughly chopped together. Plus he seems like a real chill guy. Highly recommended for all Ornette fans

Lonely Woman is classic and Eventually is a ripper. the rest ranges from pretty good to a bit too slow for my tastes

This is obviously an amazing album; not just revolutionary but great even in a vacuum. I do, however, prefer both ORNETTE! and FREE JAZZ to this.

The 70s albums are underated here. Especially The Art of the Improvisers (underated everywhere)

Free Jazz is cool, should probably check some (any?) of his others.

If you like FREE JAZZ, then ORNETTE! is as good a place as any to start. (Or continue, rather.)

I like the Friends and Neighbors live album--but definitely the debut too, for me personally
