"Just the massive amount of anal pain someone disliking this album brought about reminds me that there are people out there that legitimately care what others think."

i could care less if someone dislikes this album or the bm in general. it's just that your false accusations towards both of these ordeals is really making me want to smash your brain in.

Genuinely lost now man. What false accusations? I never accused you of being upset, I just said I hope

you aren't getting all mad and resentful because I made a joke about Beherit (and you know what I'm

saying is true too). Other than that, I have no idea what "ordeals" you're referring to.

If anything, my point here seems to be proven. Y'all take this stuff way too seriously. "Smash my

brain in"? Over something that happened on an internet forum? Come on. It's especially sad since I

really do have no clue what you're talking about.

Dude, seriously, just take a step back and re-analyze your life. You're getting pissed off at the "false accusations" (read, someone's opinion on something subjective) someone made on an internet forum and threatening them. Don't you think your opinions are a little excessive?

And don't give me this B.S. that metal isn't about image. If some guys that looked scene made a generic death metal album, they would get blasted to hell on Metal-Archives. On the other hand, Monstrosity does the exact same thing and gets a higher rating than Slayer's "Reign In Blood."

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think Reign In Blood is a great album, but I do think it's much better than Monstrosity, yet people decide to give it higher ratings simply because it's much more "obscure" or w/e, even if it's as generic as it comes. Usually WHILE these same people criticize some random metalcore band for "sounding like all the other bands." As if that wasn't a problem in every genre ever.

My point here being is this: a normal person would read this review and go "haha, yeah, I guess my favorite genre DOES seem kinda silly" and get on with their life, not get their panties all in a knot.

Yeah, I'm telling you people to lighten up. Someone gives an album you like a low rating? It ain't the end of the world for crying out loud. Did that person also poke fun at the genre? So WHAT? It's just a light-hearted thing.

That's besides the point bro. It basically reads "if you don't like the stuff we like, we hate you and you're stupid." Way to make something that should be fun (music) such a chore.

No Shadow, you guys just seem to have poor reading comprehension when you have to face the truths

about how you guys view things (srs).

The reason that Monstrosity Vs. Slayer was brought up was to point out the hypocrisy in these kinds

of things: metal fans claim not to be all about image and how a band dresses but that's perfectly

not true. Monstrosity is basically any throw-away generic death metal band, yet in Metal-Archives a

lot of their albums have higher ratings than Slayer, a band that, despite having songs within the

albums that are hard to distinguish from one another, at the very least did innovate while they put

material out. It doesn't make much sense.

But the main point isn't that, it's that if a bunch of scene looking kids or hell, someone whose

hair wasn't long and greasy put out a Monstrosity sounding album, I can assure you the rating would

be very low on Metal-Archives. People would complain that "it sounds generic" and that they're just

posers. So my claim that metal is based on image and really just a "who can like the most obscure

bands ever, regardless of quality" dick waving contest isn't completely unfounded.
