gonna get crucified for this but silenced and mercy, severity are better than a good amount of songs from LD 50

I find it really hard liking a lot of this album, it just doesn't have the same effort and thought put into it I don't think.
Still, it's what you like I guess.

its more streamlined i guess, yeah, but silenced is still one of the angriest songs ive ever heard

This is truly the best Mudvayne album, unlike L.D. 50, where each track sounds exactly the same..

I still think this is as good as LD. 50
But I disagree with what you said about the production. This album has a production, which I
personally think is perfect for their sound. Chad's vocals sound like a lost soul, the drums are raw
and heavy, and the guitars aren't overpowering the bass like on their later albums.
This album has its moments that just don't work, just like LD .50, but I think this album breaks the
trend of nu metal bands. Unlike the others, Mudvayne didn't decline in quality by their second
album. They remained true to their sound, and this album I really appreciate.
Not to mention Not Falling, (Per)Version of a Truth, and World So Cold are better than the best
songs on LD .50 --- Dig being the only exception due to how fucking intense it is... Plus Ryan does

Underrated, but not their best.

Mudvayne was recently brought up again to Chad and he's said they aren't done yet.
However, I saw comments saying they should just sack Chad off and get a new singer. Can't say I wouldn't be down with that.

If it weren't for Nothing To Gein from LD 50 and World So Cold from this album: I feel like Mudvayne could have been something amazing. Am I the only one who feels like this? Those softer songs got popularity and boom... Mudvayne dropped.
Also, does anybody feel like Silenced and Not Falling are 100% LD 50 songs? I feel like they were written well before this album was released, and are incredible songs.

Not Falling isn't far off L.D 50

Not to sound like a broken record, but I just can't get enough of Ryan Martinie's bass-playing abilities. His contributions to this album are especially solid, in a word; I like more his approach on this band's debut, and yet he's far from half bad here as well. Chad Gray's performance overall meshs well with the craftsmanship. He's not all that versatile, although I'd be lying if I said the quality of his voice was lacking. Such passion.
Mercy, Severity and A Key to Nothing are great.

Ryan's pretty drowned out on this really. But I've been jamming this the last week or so and have to admit, it's growning on me quite a lot. Might need bumping higher.

Great album! It's not as immediately effective as L.D 50, but it warrants your attention.
Sadly, the breaks were pumped too early. I've always felt Mudvayne was capable of more than what we got.
