This album is sheer brilliance. After Sacrament came out I decided to listen to all of their albums and this one still dominates them all. It's an American metal masterpiece.

I really liked the riffs on this album, but I dunno, it feels like something's missing. It's a decent release.

The production is a little weird, a re-release of this thing using their modern production would be the best thing ever!

This is really good, but some of the songs are just such generic filler for Lamb of God.

I never really liked this album. I'm not sure why.

The only song that I would remotely consider filler on this album is A Devil In God's Country.

I just looked up some Lamb of God videos on youtube and doing so made me realize that this is probably my favorite Lamb of God album.

^I know right. No one ever gives that song the praise it deserves. A Devil In God's Country is one of the best tracks on this album IM0.This Message Edited On 08.23.06

This riffing on this album is brilliant, but i feel the album is a little bit one dimensional as a whole. Repetitive.

I'm listening to it right now for the first time in quite a while. I seriously underrated this song...

I'm thinking I might up my rating of this album to a 4. I'm also picking up New American Gospel again just to make sure it hasn't grown on me.This Message Edited On 08.26.06

1. Ashes of the Wake, then As The Palaces Burn, New American Gospel.

I gave NAG another chance and it has grown on me. It's still by far their worst album in my eyes, but some of the riffs are damn heavy and quite raw.

As the Palaces Burn is officially my favorite Lamb of God. I've been completely hooked on them lately and this album is first on my to-listen list. I may just have to up my rating to a 4.5.

Black Label and The Black Dahlia are the only songs on that album i can listen to. The rest are Really annoying. New American Gospel aint that good an album.

Nice to see you're liking this album a whole lot more, Ben. It's truly an amazing album from start to finish.

This is a great album, but I don't think it tops "Ashes of the Wake" or "Sacrament". Ruin, As the Palaces Burn, and 11th Hour are some of the best LOG songs, but they are much better and technical as a band in AOTW and Sacrament.

Vigil is so awesome that it isn't even funny anymore. My jaw just drops every time I hear that song, especially when the thrash part breaks in.

IMO 11th Hour and Vigil are probably the best LOG songs. They are some of my favorite atleast.

That song's got some of LoG's most inventive riffs to date. Morton and Adler really shine on that song.

I was just listening to Ruin earlier, and I realized I could hear the bass fairly well. Some songs it's silent though, which makes me think that that it was mixed by two completely different people.
