A mainstream rock record you won't feel guilty shoving your fangs into.

Don't think this will quite reach a 4 for me, but after several listens I can say this is a pretty great album even though it doesn't quite live up to Tremonti's potential (especially the solos).

Yeah, I was disappointed with the guitars in the album, because he's pretty awesome in Alter Bridge.

"he can't even play a solo without wah lol"
the bigger lol is you thinking Wah makes soloing easier.

Really really enjoyed this album. 4.5 also from me. You can see the Creed/Alter bridge elements are evident in some of the slower paced tracks, but then he just goes all out heavy with the riffage. Catchy stuff.

I rather liked the heavier half of AB III. Hopefully this is up to the caliber of those tracks.

The band is simply titled, Tremonti. Mark is not part of the band name. Garrett is the dark horse in this album. His drumming is superb.

Dat main riff in the title track is one of the best I've heard all year.

Wish You Well and the title track are the best. The Things I've Seen is a surprisingly great ballad too, definitely better than the ones on ABIII.

ABIII was pretty weak in its second half, this is pretty consistent throughout

ABIII definitely had a stronger first half, but the second half boasted 2 of the best songs on the album, Couer D'Alene and Words Darker Than Their Wings. I agree about The Things I've Seen being better than the ABIII ballads though.
Also, that speedy post-solo/breakdown riff in the title track on here is absolutely killer.

I wouldn't really say this is more consistent than ABIII, other than the title track and maybe Decay the rest of the second half is
all the weaker tracks for me.
But oh yes, the second half of the title track is probably my favorite part of the album.
