Band rips. Will never forget being front row gazing at the guitar mastery happening before my eyes and being amazed and partially sad a bit inside knowing that I will never achieve the heights of perfection being noodled before me. Same with Helstar that same festival. Never been a huge Helstar fan due to the vocals not being my thing but my God those dudes got some chops

It really was. I need to quit being picky about the vocals honestly but for Helstar they're so up front. The leads, solos and riffs on that album are all next level for sure though. For 86 they're straight up beyond the clouds

I'll admit Watchtower took a second to click with me vocal wise. Good reminder to revisit their albums. I feel like if I got the chance to see them live I would leave without my face due to it being melted and I would likely be happy with the mishap

pretty cool that their guitarist is now a successful surgeon.

Besides medicine and his daughter, Dr. Lykins has a deep dedication to music. In between college and medical school, Dr. Lykins was a touring guitarist in an internationally known rock band. He is currently playing bass in a local rockabilly band that performs throughout the West. For recreation he enjoys skiing, SCUBA diving, and reading.

lol at "rock band", but I guess saying "the metal band Atrophy" would intimidate some patients

The vocalist brought the band back and there's a new album on the horizon

A buddy of mine plays guitar for them now and actually asked me if I wanted to tour on drums with them but I can't 😔

New album is extremely solid, albeit nothing new under the sun.
