I enjoyed Linkin Park back in the day, all their stuff up until that jay z piece of garbage. Its not something i would listen to today, not frequently, but i still enjoy the hell out of it and that earns the band a lot of my respect. But they just lost themselves. Like most of the mainstream bands today.



Now, Periphery are WAY better then them, in every sense and always were. The only genres actually worth going over in terms of musicianship are Metal/Rock, Jazz and derivated subgenres of said genres.

Hahaha, i didnt make myself clear here. I meant at a technical difficulty level and complexity. And of course you have great musicians in every genres, but i do believe that most of the truly talented musicians practice a strain of funk, indie, jazz, reggae, rock, soul, ska, metal (etc). At least what they do is way more interesting and challenging. My opinion. Its just the way i see it.

You mean classical music, Afro-Carribean music, electronic music (programming; which is really hard to do), Blues, avant garde music, etc etc, shouldn't be analyzed in terms of musicianship?

Ok, classical music would be on that list of genres i went for. I was just saying that the hardest and most complex genres are Metal, Rock and Jazz, and anything associated with those genres, and some others of course. Programming is a whole different thing, its hard as fuck i know but i was putting that aside. Mostly, pop music, hip hop, electronic music and so on, are very linear and repetitive genres. And wth, i just dont go along with it much so yeah
