TBH I don't need my food to be painfully spicy in order to enjoy it. I quite enjoy a cheeky Nandos from time to time, or I did when I lived in a country that had one.
I've got a white friend with impressive spice tolerance, but she is masochistic when it comes to food. She'll slather hot sauce on stuff when a couple of drops should suffice I just don't understand why. It's probably an ego thing where she's trying to prove that she can hang.

So since this conversation happened, three months ago, I discovered that there are Nandos all over DC and Virginia...AND...my bassplayer (who loves cooking for and feeding the rest of the band) found a recipe for Nandos and is working on perfecting it. Oh happy days!
