I mean I guess there's some prog rock i like and some noise rock etc. But yeah. 95% of what I listen to is metal. I just crave it and never tire of it

I think any genre can be made unbearable when someone subjects their entire identity to it.

Metal is by far the most diverse genre ever imo, but when i take breaks from it, usually are with alt rock, experimental, hip hop and poppy artists. Interpol, The Gathering, Porcupine Tree, Bonobo, Nujabes, Lorde, to name some

I don't see a problem with that. Someone can listen to metal all day ever day and understand the difference between a genre they're really passionate about and their full identity. I listen to a lot of Progressive metal and rock but I would say that enjoying music, great music, is part of my identity, not just listening to prog.

"Metal is by far the most diverse genre ever imo"

I can see this perspective. You can have all sorts of metal subgenres that venture everywhere from folk metal to speed metal. I think you can do a lot of things with the metal genre that you don't really see with other genres. But that could also be just because I listen to more metal than other genres.
