I grew up on later-career X, then delved into their discography later. It's amazing how well their classics hold up.

I don't think I ever told this story, but this album literally broke my ass. When it dropped in 2008 I went on a hike at night to jam it, and I wound up listening to it 3 times in a row in a secluded park while swinging on a swingset. It was a fantastic time. I wake up the next day and my ass cheeks are just destroyed. Pulled pork. Couldn't move for like 2 days.

For me it's like Awake vs Scenes from memory: this one has better highlights while V is more consistent as a package. Still, V and DWOT aged worse than this because of orchestra synths, really wish we got some of those old SX albums remastered with modern synths or a real orchestra

I was raised on both, and I still stand by what I've said before: DT's discog has higher highs, but SX has the better discog overall
