You guys must be Magma's chiken shits? Love that album. Hope for continuing the "renovation". Let s see tho, avoided the last single. I hate when ppl dislike albums because the highlights were the singles they ve listened to before. Bands tease to immediate income...

I appreciate them branching out their sound on Magma and incorporating more melody. That's not what I find appealing about Gojira's music, though.

I listen for that crushing intensity and tightly woven grooves, coupled with a massive payoff on most of their outros.

They've definitely found more success with their post-L'enfant material and good for them, they deserve the success. I'm just not that into the sound they're pursuing, personally.

Regardless, every album guarantees a masterclass by Mario.

One of the best drummers out there, so tight.

Sure...they have an ethereal/spiritual vibe to them, they can go wherever they want. Not saying I ll love what they re gonna do right away. Just if you only go to Gojira for the crushing you re missing out (they re crushing as fuck but there s loads of heavy crushing metal we all dig). Speak of Born in Winter, Low Lands etc. hope these guys stay dense for the new one, I'll receive what they have gladly.

I'm not exactly 'missing out', I'll still always go to their shows when they tour.

All their songs translate better live as well, so I almost always end up enjoying the set even if the newer material ends up being played.

I still imagine an album full of born in winters and low lands (I guess that s what I meant)

Also props on going to shows...

Now bro, if they try to capture the old Gojira it will be a major flaw. But the guitarist already said its not exactly their point now.

They can do what they want as a band, that's the whole point of being a musician in the first place.

Was just saying that my enjoyment for everything after this album has slowly declined.

Fair enough. Magma as something about it tho (and its not bout being more mainstream). Makes me sad ppl don t capture it.
