Of course Im not talking about the Sex Pistols, those guys ARE punk. "Punk" today is screaming unmelodic bile or Happy go lucky bands or just go kill yourself bands with a guitarist who knows how to play power chords.

Is there a happy medium?

Anyway i dont think i mentioned it before, but good review, despite beign vastly overrated.

Not a 5. Still a decent album.

Rap sucks in my opinion only because the only talent it involves is talking fast and rhyming. And the only thing youn have to rap about to make people like you is sex and money(cough*Candyshop*cough).

I wasn't a huge fan of Ocean Avenue though but you make this sound like they've improved.

Neither of you have any idea as to what you're talking about.

I haven't heard the album but only the single. It seems to be that a lot of pop-punk bands are making the "mature sophomore" album now. And unfortunately most of what I heard are pretty terrible.

Agreed, but this isn't their sophomore album.

Lol this site makes me laugh. It was remarked on a different review (can't remember of what) that the music fans here are some of the most ignorant, close-minded people in the world. Now, the reviewer EXCELLENTLY put into words that opinions are opinions. The person stating his opinions is not necessarily calling it a fact. It's just his opinion. And what I've begun to notice about SputnikMusic is that if your opinion doesn't vibe with the mainstream opinion of the site, you're going to get flamed to the ground. The mainstream opinion of the site becomes hallowed "fact" and if your tastes differ, then tough luck for you. Such an attitude is not healthy for a good community, and as much as I enjoy reading the reviews and comments here (I come to Sputnik almost every day now) I rarely contribute because my opinions rarely compelment those of the leading reviewers/commenters here. I humbly suggest that the users here try not to be so scathing with their disagreements, and to let others disagree with them a little more.

As for the review itself, it was very well-written. The only song I've heard is the title track and I don't really like it that much. I'm thinking about borrowing their earlier albums from a friend though, just to check them out.

I don't agree with that statement NOTINTHEFACE, but that's your opinion, so whatever.

I wouldn't even call Yellowcard punk. They are just Alternative.

Lol maybe my music just seems to all fall into the "controversial" category.... here's some examples:

Hoobastank
Relient K
Linkin Park (their later album especially)
POD (to a lesser degree)
the 1st page of comments for this review

Those are just a few examples. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to offend anyone. Like I said, I still come to this site almost every day. Just an observation and a suggestion I've made.

"The day rap is music is the day Paul McCartney does a duet with Lil Bow Wow."
I don't Know how to do that quote thing that everyone else does on here(i'm super new to this internet thing. I got free AOL. Make fun of me.) Anyway I thought it was pretty funny because Paul McCartney just did a duet with Jay-Z at the Grammy's the other night. I was laughing out loud because I thought about that post

All the bands you just said are pop bands that for some weird reason get thrown into the punk genre because people are fucking retarded.

I heard Yellowcard say that they named their album after their favorite song from the album. If thats the case, I'll pass on this one.

Their favourite song doesn't necessarily mean the best song, you know...
