I have to admit, this grew a lot after the first hate.

^changed my comment. meant to put on the other review for this album.

I listened to all of their old material. While I don't think it was great (except for Winterheart's Guild; I actually thought that was a pretty solid, not so cheesy album altogether), they've really abandoned whatever kept them together as a band with this album. Their career from Unia to this album is just confusing.

Unia is great though. You should also bear in mind that the lineup changed significantly after Reckoning Night

Yes they had some turbulence but they stepped in the right direction with Pariah's Child though ("Cloud Factory", "Blood", "What Did You Do In The War, Dad?", "Larger Than Life"). Sure it isn't perfect but it's definitely better than this thing that gets a 3 only because I have a soft spot for catchy choruses. Maybe the Ecliptica re-recording will give them a good influence.

I personally don't think they had the same emotion to it or it just didn't feel as sincere. It's their most solid album in years but it still isn't that good

Yeah I agree there isn't the emotion, but as an aspirant dubber the lyrics of "Larger Than Life" (plus Tony's voice) makes me happy. The intro to "What Did You Do In The War, Dad?" slays though.

The genuine feels in a song like The End of This Chapter isn't present, which makes me a bit sad but maybe Pariah's child was like Ecliptica, where it's a bit silly. Tony is better as you said but I think the lineup changes will mean that we'll never get something on par with their earlier albums

Yes, I fear that too.
