"oh the reviewer's profile has no comments, one rating and one review. yeah the band wrote this."

I actually think you're 100% right. The review is more selling it than explaining why it moves them

so much to give it a classic rating.

Review of the review:

"You won't find too many metal bands that incorporate piano as heavily as Art By Numbers do. This

alone will set this band apart. "

"This will most likely impress fans of The Human Abstract and Protest the Hero." - Probably the most

transparent example

"I personally think it's yet another unique song by a very unique band."

"BUY THIS ***ING ALBUM. ...the band proved that they can write a masterpiece that is truly unique

and features a sound you won't hear anywhere else.

It's actually more like reading an amateur band's biography

Stop the conspiracy theories. There are tons of fanboy-style reviews in this site that are guilty of the same exact inflated expounding.

ugh I agree that not necessarily all over-rated, hyperbole reviews are made by the band and that'd be silly to even imply but it's more of a stretch to say that this review WASN'T made by the band (or maybe like a close friend to the band member's AT BEST).

Close friend, possibly. They probably think they're doing a good thing but they don't know how the vultures in this site operate.

Okay, there was some confusion I guess on how I heard this album.

I did not hear it the day I posted the review, their manager let me hear it far before this review was ever posted. I've been listening to the album the entire month of May.

Brett Powell, drummer of The Human Abstract, manages this band.

If you've got an issue with my rating, review it yourself.

Personally, I'm aware of how you heard the album (I deleted your review and responded to the subsequent e-mail; remember?).

Haha, don't take their shit personally. There are a lot of people on this site that take their music very seriously and they don't like people that might be inflating an album rating (look at the bitching going on over a Deuce album). Think of this place like a third world country with a soundtrack. Lots of ignorant people roaming the landscape looking for trouble with a huge distrust of anyone new.

I don't really understand how people go about giving classic ratings to albums that they have barely heard a few times . To each their own, i guess.

Photon your comment is attractive and flashy. Although there are some flaws (awkward spacing between periods), I can undoubtedly say that it is a timeless statement and a gem in this sea of otherwise shitty comments.

5/5

I think the album's pretty good...especially considering its the bands first album ever. They can only get better from here right? I guess I should lower my rating, but I really really enjoy a few of the songs enough for me to personally accept it as a 4. Unfortunately some of those same songs end up being too short. The album isn't a progressive metal masterpiece by any means (a bit short and some of the songs are a bit flash without substance) but I don't think the band is boring by any means...

That's my opinion though.
