we need to get ImmersedReality back in here. this is easily the best thread i've read on the site.

Also, I've heard a couple songs from this and they were amazing

I disagree with this review. I really like this album. The Kraftwerk influences are very cool on this album. Even though it's not what Squarepusher has done before at all, it's best to maybe try and get interested in what this has to offer. I find the more times I listen to it, the more different thought process I have each time.

Wait, what is this even supposed to mean? I can't try or force myself to become interested in something that I already find to be incredibly uninteresting

That might work for school, but it doesn't work for music.

Well, it does sometimes, but the attitude of "you haven't listened to this properly" is still annoying.

Well this is just my opinion, but what got me to listen to this album was that the sound reminded me of old flash games and the sonic the hedgehog games hahah

Something about making that connection just made it so much more enjoyable

Yeah, but I don't want to have to "force" myself to be interested in something. Either I am or I am not. Sure I could give it one or two more tries to see if it sparks anything but anything further than that is probably just wasted time.

True, true. There's too much awesome music out there to force yourself to like anything. May as well just move onto the next album.

I loved Loada and Music Is Rotted One Note when they first came out but everything else Tom has done has just been ok. I have to agree with the 2 rating... it's not a bad album, it's just nothing groundbreaking.

That sucks, I was hoping for another Just a Souvenir or better. I'll probably get it anyway just because I love the dude's stuff.

I must say though, it maybe a bit dissappointing if you liked his older stuff like Hard Normal Daddy or Feed Me Weird Things or Ultravisitor because this new stuff is foreign for him. So, I'm not trying to sound annoying as in "everyone should like this" I just think that this new direction sounds really good, even though it's not like the other albums.

This is great writing. You should be praised and have a column in a published journal. Although the review is a bit tedious and bombarded with detail, your music terminology and vocabulary is spot on. This certainly goes beyond any standard album "review," but it's certainly a well written piece regarding shifting sands in a sub-genre's culture.

er... yeah. or something like that.
