This album is a lot of fun to listen to. Never said i didn't like it... What it comes down to is that

I think Baloff was way over-the-top. So much so that its tends to get a bit annoying after a couple

listens. Now someone made a great point and said that clean singing wouldn't sound good to this kind

of music, but i have to disagree. Look at bands like Forbidden, Anthrax, and Annihilator. You CAN sing

to thrash. Now Baloff made a good effort and showed lots of energy. He does have some moments where he

is just a beastly dude, but its just not for me...

A hell of an album. Absolutely one of the better Bay Area thrash releases, and being also extremely

influential.

Baloff is great at giving this album its unique, just right, feeling. When it comes to actual

skill/talent, that would be low. Luckily music isn't all about skill, only the enjoyment that music

gives is important. And that's where Paul Baloff scores, along with the rest of the band. Hard.

Yeah i have to admit that after a dozen or so more listens the last few days, this album is starting to catch on with me. If i reviewed it now i might give a 4 instead of a 3.5

I never said you couldn't sing to good thrash, but bands like Artillery play a very different style than Exodus does. Artillery are ultra-melodic, while Exodus are pure aggression. Anthrax had a good mix between Belladonna and the shouted backing vocals.

"Oh yeah also check Artillery. One of my fav clean vox thrash bands as well."

Fear of Tomorrow has the perfect vocals for thrash. im not so fond of the operatic style he took on on later albums though.
