That would be because it's the least awesome of their first 3!

The Gathering might be on par with this for me. The Ritual comes fairly close. Low is nice as well, but not that much.

This is like my fav Testament! Their first three are all thrash classics to me. None of the rest of their discog even comes close haha.

Souls of Black has some great songs but it's easily the weakest out of their first five.

agreed Nags followed by this imo

i wouldn't really group the ritual in with the first 4 as that album was a total abandonment from their signature sound.........that's my favorite Testament as well

First two songs are uber catchy with enough metal edge to maintain headbangability (and there are some nice little fast sections in the choruses to Perilous Nation)

Envy Life fuckin crunches and WHOOA-OH! COME ON DOWN TO THE HOUSE OF PAIN!

Time Is Coming packs the sick riffz (but it rehashes a riff from 2:37-ish in Do Or Die) and YOUR TIIIIME IIIIS COMIN

Blessed in Contempt doesn't have as good songwriting but it thrashes hard and the part at the end is really cool

Greenhouse Effect is catchy and has a SICK riff that leads into some badass solos

Sins of Omission is just fucking classic, def one of the best Testament songs

The Ballad is actually pretty good, has a great acoustic riff at the beginning, but it drags

Nightmare (Coming Back to You) is fast the whole way through, and the solo section is awesome, feels underdeveloped though

Confusion Fusion is fucking cool

Songwriting here is overall really good, and there are lots of catchy parts

Album slays

Low and Demonic are probably their worst albums. Neither one of them are really bad, but they certainly have the most skippable tracks.
