not that this isn't great, but once you've heard one Bad Religion song, you've heard them all

That statement sort of holds true for most punk bands though...

not at all - The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, The Stranglers and the Tom Robinson band, to name just a few, all had their share of artistic development, often drastically, throughout their career

Yeah, I know, but now you're giving the exceptions to the rule

Really? The Damned, Ramones, Minor Threat and Dead Kennedys didn't do this as much if you ask me...

Minor threat got gradually more sophisticated as they went on - compare Salad Days to their really early material - bear in mind they weren't around for very long. The other examples I'll give you :P

But it seems to me that EVERY bad religion song sounds the same musically - same drumbeats, same guitar lines, same structures. It's maybe more noticeable with them because they've got such a big discography

I honestly dont know why this is so well liked and even respected. Honestly, even for serious punk fans... just how? How can you say this is so good? Listen to the album, every song sounds exactly the same, same chords, same droning, boring voice, same feeling to every single song. Its boring as hell, this album sucks.

That's untrue. Bad Religion evolved substantially over the years and have done their fair share of experimentation. They're not my favourite band of all time because they kept doing the same thing ;)
