Hole In The Sky could legit be a Led Zep song

it's one of Sabbath's heaviest songs. Too heavy for Zeppelin, they had songs like that but just a few

there's definitely a shift from the older sound on this album. "symptoms of the universe" has aged beautifully.

I still think of Sepultura when Symptom of the Universe comes up. Their cover in the 1994 Black Sabbath tribute album “Nativity in Black: A Tribute to Black Sabbath” was the first time I heard the song. I heard this covers album before the originals ! I saw the bands listed on the cd cover and had to get it

Heaven and He'll would not have existed the way it does without this album.

Interesting thought, Jack. Care to elaborate?

Heaven and Hell has a rapid fire hard edge to it as opposed to the more slow burn doom aspects of the Ozzy era, but it isn't rock like Technical and Never Say were. It's pure metal, but done in the form of a knife as opposed to a blunt object like Ozzy's era.

Sabotage was the same way with some exceptions, it was more of a prototype for HandH than a predecessor. People say it has more in common with Rainbow but I disagree, Rainbow was far more into extravagant production than the Dio Sabbath duology is.
