Yeah they're different singers that's true
If that's the case then fuck Omar, he sounds like a right old dickhead and the vocals single-handedly ruin Bedlam for me

That's true, you got me there. Boyd sounds better than THAT song, but they fucked the shit out of his voice and who knows what went through their heads. It's just some b-side anyway. He sounds sweet live and I love damn near everything he has done

Omar is most certainly a dickhead and has completely lost his shit

I'm actually asking you seriously though, do you really enjoy the start of that first song on Bedlam? Because that made me want to self-immolate

yup omar is long past his prime

Hey now, that's a good song. I have that record 4'd. A few of his line deliveries irk me but nothing that ruins my enjoyment

I guess I'm just destined to never understand, but the song Goliath is the tastiest of jams
Anne by Froosh > anything else Omar has been on

@tummygun - the ep is decent. its def an easier listen than his first release simply because it is mastered better but all in all nothing groundbreaking.

Cedric and Boyd are both great but i gotta say Cedric is way more versatile and has alot more range. Boyd does have more of an accessible vocal style. I prefer Cedric's voice but it's all a matter of preference tbh.

as much as I like this album I think it does not translate live well at all... also when this first came out I thought Deantoni's drum parts were creative but now I can't stand his drumming (it just seems really gimicky). Thomas Pridgen's drumming style is kinda "busy" but Mars Volta as a live band were an unstoppable force with him behind the kit. that being said Jon Theodore was still the perfect drummer for them and I can see why Cedric wanted him to rejoin instead of having that douche Deantoni (who Omar wanted)

The band in general didn't translate very well live in their later years.
